If I Were Starting My Real Estate Career in 2023, Here's What I'd Do // It’s a pretty popular opinion right now that we’re about to head into or we’re already in a recession, and 2023 is going to be a year of layoffs, reductions in corporate earnings, and much stricter hiring practices across the board.

Year-over-year job cuts last month jumped by over 400% from November of 2021, and the run up in interest rates over the last 12 months has made real estate deals extremely difficult to get done.

And since revenues for commercial real estate investment, brokerage, and lending firms are heavily dependent on transaction volume, this slowdown has resulted in very valid concerns about job security in commercial real estate, and the availability of opportunities for recent graduates and young professionals looking to break into the industry.

And with so many of you watching this channel either looking to land your first internship or full-time job in this business, in this week's video, I want to share some general career advice that I would give to my younger self if I were starting my career in 2023, and the actions I would take (and prioritize) to make the new year my best one yet.
