A Richmond, B.C., man has won the first-ever Gold Ball Jackpot prize in the province, taking home a whopping $58 million.

The BC Lottery Corporation announced Hao Ping Chung won the massive prize on Friday.

Chung said his parents at first believed their son was being scammed.

“They were surprised and asked if it was a scam," he said.
